On Sunday we celebrated the Solemnity of the EPIPHANY which traditionally falls on the 6th January, the Twelfth Day of Christmas.
This feast remembers the arrival of the Magi (Wise Men) which was a sign that Jesus was not just for the Jews but for all the world. The word epiphany means ‘a moment of great revelation’. The problem with being raised and educated Catholic is that everything is so familiar that it can sometimes lack impact – we could all do with a fresh Epiphany!
This feast also reminds us that Jesus is not just for Catholics, or just Christians, but for those of all faiths and none too. Let us pray that all Christians would be worthy ambassadors who represent the love and mercy of Christ to those who do not yet know Him in all that they say and do as we pray: Our Father…
Think: How do you re-present the Catholic faith to others? Are you a good ambassador for Christ?
