Just a Little Longer…

Speaking to friends who live overseas, it’s clear that Brexit has caught the world’s attention. Many are amused at the clueless approach that Britain’s government seem to have in negotiating a deal. Recently the EU President was asked how much of an extension they would be willing to grant Britain whilst they negotiate a plan – his reply was “as long as it takes”. In last SUNDAY’S GOSPEL Jesus tells the story of a fig tree that is to be destroyed because it bears no fruit. But the one who tends the vineyard begs for one more year for the tree. This reminds us that God will always give us another chance and a little longer. Perhaps we should pray that we would have the same patience with others: Our Father…

Act: Choose to be patient or forgive someone who has wronged you, even if they haven’t said sorry.
